Japanese Window Shades – the Window Shades to outdo every other type of Window Shades on the planet! Based on Japanese Shoji Screens, these lightweight Shades are made from ‘Obeche’ timber (almost the lightest weight wood in the world, used for luxury Venetian Window Shades). We are Highbury Design and we began making Japanese Window Shades in 2011, since when they have been featured on TV and in national magazines in the UK- and we send them oversees too. Unlike conventional Japanese Shoji Shades they have no bottom track, so no trip hazard and underfloor heating is unaffected- and of course the Shades are unaffected by heat and humidity!
