Find out more about the Japanese Panel Company - as seen on TV!

We're your Japanese Shoji specialists in Nottingham, East Midlands. We serve the whole of the UK with our one-of-a-kind, bespoke furnishings perfect for any home or commercial space. We began in 1987, making blinds and then curtains, artworks and upholstery. For years now we’ve had our suppliers say ‘nice stuff.. of course, it’s just for a select niche market’… After appearing on Sarah Beeny’s show ‘Double Your House For Half The Money’ in 2013- the Bristol developers of the Old Drill Hall couldn’t sell one of the apartments, so we installed Shoji blinds and within 10 days it was sold!

All our blinds are made-to-order in our Nottingham-based workshop. Meet the Japanese Blinds Company team >

Because of the unique products we manufacture, our showrooms attract visitors from all over the country- we’ve had customers from Oxford, Leeds, London, Cambridge, Manchester &  Norwich  to name just a few! In addition, our websites bring enquiries from all over the world- we recently made panel blinds for Middle East clients.

‘Real Homes’ national magazine have twice shown our products and we’ve been interviewed about our interior design ideas by the BBC, so have a look at our videos and portfolios- we feature more than 140 panel and Shoji blinds, and we have over 5,000 fabrics in our showrooms- just ask for samples.

Directors Stephanie and Nick are both artists, so expect lots of enthusiasm when you call us, whether it’s regarding curtains, blinds, artworks or Shoji panels!

Our products have been featured on TV & in magazines!

We were telephoned by the production team of ‘Double Your House for Half the Money’ and told Sarah was interested in our Shoji Blinds. We had 3 days to make a demo blind for Sarah Beeny to use on the set, along with samples to demonstrate a client choosing fabric options. We managed to get everything made in time by working long hours as we’d been given such a short time frame to work with and 3 days later drove down to Essex for the filming.

We ended up making blinds for virtually every room! The Siddiqis seemed very pleased with our fabrics and designs and then we had a few weeks to manufacture before filming began again!

In August we travelled back down to the Siddiqi’s house for the final filming where we installed the finished products.
